2022 COVID-19 Supplemental Paid Sick Leave

COVID-19 Supplemental Paid Sick Leave

On February 9, 2022, the Governor signed SB 114, bringing back the state’s COVID-19 Supplemental Paid Sick Leave.

Covered employees in the public or private sectors who work for employers with 26 or more employees are entitled to up to 80 hours of COVID-19-related sick leave, retroactively from January 1, 2022 to September 30, 2022. Employers must start providing this new leave on February 19, 2022.

With the signing of SB 114, the California Labor Commissioner’s Office has issued a new required notice for covered employers to post and distribute to employees before February 19, 2022:

Please print and display these posters next to your other required postings at workplaces and jobsites.

For employees who work remotely and do not frequent the physical workplace, you may distribute the notice electronically.

If you’ve purchased a 2022 California and Federal Labor Law Poster from CalChamber, there are no required changes to your current poster. This notice is a separate posting if you are a covered employer.
