Laura Martella – HR Consultant, SHRM-SCP and CPBA

Laura Martella has more than 20 years progressive experiences in business operations, organizational development, and as an HR professional. Over her career, she has provided strategic HR management and leadership at small to mid-sized and large companies in a variety of cities and states, including Los Angeles, San Francisco, Omaha, Denver and San Diego, California. Her diverse industry experience includes wildlife conservation, amusement parks, transportation, publishing, technology, real estate and more.

Her previous positions included VP, Administrative Services & HR for San Diego Association of Realtor’s; formally, the Head of HR for SeaWorld and spent 7 1/2 years as Director, Human Resources and Learning & Development at the San Diego Zoo and Safari Park organization. Ms. Martella has expertise in employee relations, talent acquisition, affirmative action, compensation and benefits, performance management and workers’ compensation. She received her bachelor’s degree at University of Phoenix and her Master’s from University of San Diego. Ms. Martella is also a certified SHRM-SCP and CPBA.

Ms. Martella is a member of the San Diego and National Society for Human Resource Management (SHRM) and is a volunteer Board Member for San Diego HR Forum. She also in an adjunct instructor at UCSD Extended Studies Program, teaching in the HR Certificate Program.
